We’re supposed to have elected officials in the house, congress and president that serve the public interest (not special interest).
Instead in many cases special interest wins out.
There are a lot of things I would like to see brought to a national vote (other than elections).
I know that someone has sold you on the idea that those are tax breaks but really it’s just that we don’t tax companies that aren’t in the U.S. That’s not a break, it’s just a recognition of reality. We don’t control the whole world. We only get to tax American companies. If a company leaves the U.S., it’s no longer an American company, and we just don’t have authority to go to Italy and tax Italian companies because we want more money. Think about it.
why can’t we vote on tax issues at all. answer, we are supposed to be a representative democracy but we don’t get that kind of representation. time to chunk some tea in the harbor.
Because our government is controlled by greedy fat cats who are funded by the very corporations that are out sourcing.
The Democrats have tried it, the Republicans opposed it. If the Democrats are able to continue to control congress they may be more successful.
