Will Obama voters be surprised if he’s elected and doesn’t follow through on the middle class tax breaks?

You Are Dry Shaving Me asked:

Obama has 3 options, and needs to choose one:

1. Not give middle class tax breaks
2. Cut funding for majority of community programs
3. Let the deficit rise to around 5.7 trillion

There is no possible way he can keep all his promises. I don’t understand why his supporters can’t understand this.

    No president has ever had a problem in the last three or four decades in letting the deficit rise. Why should he?

    I don’t know one democrat who cares about taxes…we care about doing the right thing…Loving thy nieghbor as thyself….whatever can be done to stop the warmongering is the main goal…there are so many people homeless, no jobs, no health insurance I just answered this question about 15 min..this is all republicans things about while dems could care less.

    like mccain can keep his promises,

    LMAO

    how does he plan on subsidizing 45 nuclear plants with a spending freeze?

    90% of these promises will never happen, the other 10% will be different than expected, i’m voting for the smartest ticket: OBAMA/BIDEN

    also, obama will have congress on his side, so maybe 20% of his promises will actually happen

    I’m sure there will be a percentage who are surprised and some who aren’t. There are a variety of people voting for him who can not all be summed up as one group which blindly believes everything a politician says.

    I dont think they believe it now, they are just pretending to, without major spending cuts he cannot do anthing but raise taxes on everone which of course he plans on doing anyway.

    Wow…
    He is going to do the middle class tax breaks, because he knows our economy is mostly middle class.
    At least he’s not like McCain and doesn’t say he has a plan to capture Bin Laden but never ever says it!
    Wow……

    Think about the last democratic president that make that same statement to get elected. He gave the taxpayers the biggest tax hike in history and made it retroactive on top of it

    You assume we believe what ANY politician has to say about taxes. It’s just that we find Obama’s policies in general to be preferable to McCain’s. Why do you assume that because someone is going to vote for Barack Obama, it means they support everything that comes out of his mouth? I’m not looking to put my ideological twin into the White House – I just want the guy whose policies MOST CLOSELY match my ideals. Neither of them is an identical match, but Obama comes closer than McCain – McCain’s incredibly unrealistic and I am NOT impressed with his knee-jerk decision making (see: Sarah Palin).

    Majority of funding will possibly be cut from Iraq..

    His tax policy is a given in my mind.. As it will assuredly help the econ grow. A successfull econ will lead to raising taxes in the future..

    Ending the war in Iraq will cut spending dramatically..
    Healthcare, will probably have to wait.. Again.. As it did with Slick Willie..

    BTW = Mccain’s plan is far more expensive than Obama’s…

    Here’s what he’ll do:

    1) Eviscerate the military;
    2) Tax businesses into oblivion;
    3) Give tax breaks to people who pay no income taxes (i.e. welfare payments);
    4) Refuse to build nuclear power plants or drill for oil, relying instead on fantasies about windmills and solar panels;

    And

    5) When all of the above causes businesses to shut down in droves, sending uemployment to double digits, emboldening our enemies, and destroying the American economy………..

    He’ll blame George Bush.

    The truth of the matter is it will probably take all three. The only ones that will get a tax rebate are those who never have paid taxes in their lives because they are unemployable or just too lazy to work.
