Will a severe downturn in the world economy vanquish advances of atheism/rational thought?
imrational asked:
People tend to turn to god/religion/prayer in times of disaster. Many people tend to blame people who turn from faith or commit sin as the causes of those disasters.

Will we see atheism blamed for the downturn of the economy? Will we see atheism’s recent advances of the last 8 years start to disappear?
I hope not. Maybe people will realize that it happened under a president that believes imaginary beings talk to him.
A lot of the problem with our economy and country these days is because so many people lack moral values. Greed, hate, idolizing money and focusing too much attention on THEMSELVES is always going to cause disaster eventually.
Your question is inflammatory and insulting, so whatever else you have to say is inconsequential.
Grow up, learn some respect like most of your fellow Atheists, and then get back to us.
Most probably if the world does go down the $hitter yes. But then people will think we’re going into the end of times (again) so they’ll be obsessed with that.
I do not see any such relationship between economy and atheism.
There is a serious flaw some where in the economic system itself, so we should search to rectify it.
Human greed and desire to become rich quickly has made the situation worst.
