Isn’t it silly to say Bush is the reason the economy took a downturn?

mike m asked:

Its almost like saying Clinton was solely responsible for the prosperity of the 90’s
subwm4bush: As far as I know, we ALL got tax cuts, rich, working class, we all got it, and in fact I enjoy keeping more of my tax money.

That is what happens when you go to war and cut taxes.

Not really, cutting taxes on the wealthy while the economy was good was a bad idea. Conservative fiscal policy states that you cut taxes when the economy is WEAK to stimulate the economy. When the economy is going well you take revenue to pay down DEBT, not create more and more debt.

Also, the deregulation of the lending industry during our Bush administration set up an ENRON like house of cards which is now collapsing.

There is also the issue of spending trillions of dollars on an elective war. Not a sound fiscal proposition.

Yes, we have made many, many fiscal mistakes. Yes, they were not conservative by definition, but we are neoconservatives, not conservatives.

Yes you are so absolutely right. There were so many other self centered and greedy individuals who worked with him to distroy the stability of the government, ecconomy, and Americans feelings of security.

I agree! It is Vice President Cheney, who is the sinister force behind the dark veil.

The reason the economy has gone down the drain is because of the labor unions, forcing higher outrageous wages for employees. Which has caused many great businesses to either go over seas or close.

And Bill Clinton is the number one cause of that thanks to his dumb a** signing the free trade agreement to let all that foreign crap into the US.

I say set a huge tax on all imported goods and that will take care of all the foreign crap that we keep ending up with.

Silly ? Who brought us to war, who cut taxes and increased spending, who never vetoed a bill until the Dem’s got in, Who had the entire world on our side and blew it big time, Who said mission accomplished a tad early, Bush is by far the worst thing that happened in this country in memory, ten times worse than Carter.
